"Hello! My name is Wyviryn!
I am a South Carolina local, a vuldrake and wearer of many hats. First and foremost, I am a composer and a percussionist. I acquired a BA in music composition from the University of South Carolina's Columbia campus in 2021, as well as a certificate in percussion performance. Nowadays, I'm on the hunt for opportunities to be a video game composer!
I am also a furry artist, and have been drawing for most of my life. I got my first digital tablet in 2016, and have since then honed my skills and have started looking for opportunities to create and sell my work. I have also endeavored to begin my own webcomic, and am capable of creating animations! My work is primarily digital, but I do traditional work during conventions as well!
On top of those, I am also a variety streamer! I stream to Twitch alongside a friend of mine, and solo as well! There, I play a variety of games and even engage in streaming music and art from time to time, as well as bring on guests!
As a creative person, I am always striving to bring more joy and fascination into the world through my work, and to enrich the projects with which I'm involved. I am endlessly happy to put my creations out into the world for everyone to enjoy, and always ready and willing to make new friends and connections!"

Q&A with the Guest Of Honor
What got you into drawing? What inspired you to pick up that pencil?
For as long as I can remember, I've always been drawing. I was always doodling in the margins of assignments and in various notebooks on the side, and it would always satisfy my brain to do it. That was probably the sign that it ought to be something I continued to do! Come 2016, I started using social media to share my art around a little bit more, and soon after I was gifted my first art tablet. From there, it's been one of my biggest passions in life alongside music, and it's one of the things that's never left me. I think I was always attracted to the idea that I could manipulate what I'm seeing and create worlds and ideas that could translate to others in a satisfying way. I've always loved creating my own worlds, and drawing was and still is the way I bring them to life.
If you had to give advice to any starting artist what would it be?
Don't ever be afraid to draw something. Even if it's an idea you don't think that others will appreciate, it's something that you will. Drawing is as much for you as it is for anyone else, and not every drawing has to be something you show everyone around you. You can draw for you, too! Alongside that, nothing has to be perfect. Don't ever be afraid to make mistakes or draw something imperfect. As long as you keep at it, your work is always going to improve. Even the greatest artists out there are still learning, so take solace in knowing you'll never be alone as an artist.
What was the greatest resource you found to help you improve in art?
Foremost is the world around me. I just find so much appreciation in seeing the world as it is, seeing how people move about their day-to-day, how nature fills in its place. There's an endless breadth of knowledge and inspiration that we can all learn just by sitting at a bench somewhere and watching as the day goes by. Seeing the plant life and how it's all grown from the ground in ways that complement the surroundings, looking at the ground itself and how it's formed and eroded over time, seeing the people that intermingle with it all and how they live life. I find it the best form of study to just watch, you know? I'd be remiss to not mention those closest to me in my life, who inspire me to keep pushing and improving on my work. Seeing them succeed makes me want to succeed too!
What is a piece of media, art, or music you are most proud of and want to share?
To be honest, that's a difficult one for me to answer. My art and my music are both always changing and evolving as I get older. Realistically, the answer is that there's always going to be a new answer as I improve at the things I'm doing. That said, when it comes to artwork, I'm probably the most proud of a comic I have in the works. I don't know how far it's going to go, or if I'll even get the opportunity to finish it, but making a story comic is something I know I've always wanted to do, and I'm simply proud of myself for being able to take that first step of sketching out the pages. Musically, until I have my first video game soundtrack under my belt, my favorite piece I've written is a chamber piece I wrote my junior year of college called "Chakra". It's very hard for me to feel perfectly satisfied with anything I've created or written, but that's one of the ones I'm particularly happy with.
What got you into the furry fandom?
Aa far as the fandom goes, I've generally been the type to keep to myself until a few years ago. That said, the community itself is truly a positive mark in the world. I have never found a community more open to and accepting of folks like me who maybe consider themselves to be more "atypical". The furry community is really the best place to be yourself, and it's a community that, while I may not be the most active in, I will always be happy to be a part of. As far as art is concerned, to be honest, I've always found a deep fascination with the idea of anthropomorphic characters. There are endlessly many ideas someone could have with them, and they always make for unique and striking silhouettes that you can only get in fiction. Not only that, but there are just too many opportunities for stories and designs that really stick with people to count.
What Does South Carolina and its fandom mean to you?
I think South Carolina and its fandom are in a unique position as far as the wider furry community goes. Both are developing and growing at a surprising pace. You'd really be surprised how many people you might meet anywhere in the state who are furries themselves. It's certainly been a surprise to me! That said, I'm always happy to meet the folks who are a part of it. As a native South Carolinian myself, I've always felt just a little bit separated from the people around me. But that's where the furry community comes in. You're never a stranger in it, and South Carolina's community is no exception. I love getting the opportunity to meet everyone and share my creations with them, and building connections and friendships that'll last a long time is always worth any travel needed.
Could you please show us some cat pictures :3c and tell us some information about your kitty?
This is Yuki. She's been with me for a few years ever since my mom found her inside the hood of a car. She's a bit of a skittish creature but she's a sweetheart. She does her own thing, really. Doesn't eat too much, chills out mostly, hardly has the zoomies. She's a little weirdo. She usually only wants attention from me when I'm going to bed or waking up, but regardless, I love her a lot. We think she's a ragdoll of some kind, and yeah, she always makes that same face when she's looking at me. She's very photogenic.
Any final words or anything you would like to tell the attendees of Palmetto Anthro Weekend?
I'm really excited and deeply honored to be working with the folks handling this convention, and for the opportunity to share my work with everyone and contribute to the community in my own way! This is the first time I've been given an opportunity like this and it's been a dream of mine for quite a while. I can't wait to meet everyone and share with you all everything I've created. As someone who wears hats in several creative fields, I have a lot to talk about, so if you see me around, please, by all means, come talk! I'm looking forward to the event, and don't ever forget that, no matter what, we are all always together!
