Palmetto Anthro Collective’s Artist Alley Code Of Conduct

Palmetto Anthro Weekend (PAW) is an event organized and founded by the Palmetto Anthro Collective, which may be abbreviated to “PAC” or referred to as “we,” “us,” “our,” or “ourselves” for the duration of this document. The party consenting to this Code of Conduct may be referred to as “you,” “your,” or “yourself,” for the duration of this document. You agree to our established guidelines and standards detailed in this document. We reserve the right to take appropriate action against action(s) and/or cases that go against our Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct is in place to ensure everyone is safe and has a good time. Thank you for reading.

Selection

Artist Alley vendors are first selected via a juried selection and are picked via point system. Bonus points are awarded to vendors from the Southeast, under the following guidelines: 

South Carolina-based applicants: +3 bonus points

North Carolina, Georgia & Tennessee-based applicants:  +2 bonus points

Florida & Virginia-based applicants: +1 bonus point

Individuals who are not selected via the jury selection and have gone through the vetting process will automatically be entered into a raffle for daily slots in the Artist Alley. This raffle is solely based on RNG. All individuals included in the raffle will be given one day in the Artist Alley based on their RNG ranking, and then given additional days if/when every other participant in the raffle has received one day.

 Waitlist

Artist Alley does not have a waitlist, in the event that slots open up in the weeks leading up to the convention–individuals in the raffle will be offered additional days based on their RNG ranking.

In preparation for slots that may open during the convention, prospective vendors who do not have a slot for that day can mark themselves as “standby” by reacting to the announcement made during set-up time. Marking yourself as “standby” means the vendors are awake and their setup is ready to put together. These users will be pinged in the Telegram chat of any unclaimed or forfeited spots 10 minutes after Artist Alley opens to attendees. The individuals who were marked as “standby” AND first reply to the availability announcement will receive the slot once confirmed by staff, and have 20 minutes to arrive at the Artist Alley for setup.

Timeline

All vendors will be notified of results by late October 2026.

Registration and table must be purchased and paid for by November 22nd, 2026. The Artist Alley’s table fee includes all taxes and fees. Approved vendors will be added to an Artist Alley Telegram chat called “Palmetto Anthro Weekend Artist Alley 2027” with other vendors, prospective vendors, and staff for ease of communication and networking with others. 

Once a vendor is approved, they will have until November 22nd, 2026 to pay for their table and register, unless an extension is requested and approved by Palmetto Anthro Collective staff. Vendors who do not pay for their table by this date will have forfeit their slot and not be eligible to vend in the Artist Alley for PAW 2027.

Approved vendors will be required to obtain and submit a South Carolina Tax ID to the Palmetto Anthro Collective by December 15th, 2026 to confirm their slots, unless an extension is requested and approved by Palmetto Anthro Collective staff.

Plot Size and Restrictions

Artist Alley vendors are given a half table to build their display on, measuring 3’ wide by 30” deep, and can build to a maximum of 36” high (three 12” grids). Vendors must keep their display within this given plot and not encroach into other spaces–such as other vendors, egresses, and walkways–to maintain a safe environment for everyone.

All additional merchandise must be stored underneath your table to maintain a safe egress and easy entry/exit if you are not actively at your table.

Helpers are not permitted in the Artist Alley due to space constraints. If accommodations are required, please communicate them to Palmetto Anthro Collective Staff before the event.

As Artist Alley aims to provide a space for attendees to receive at-con commissions and uplift smaller merch makers, proxies are NOT permitted in the Artist Alley.

Vendors may only sell products that they own (i.e., the vendor has full legal permission to sell) or have created. Selling merchandise on behalf of another vendor is prohibited.

Vendors may leave their table for short periods of time, we ask for you to put up a sign or other notification of an approximate return time or contact Vendor Staff if you need your table to be watched temporarily. If a table is left unattended for a prolonged period of time without notification, and the artist has not responded for 30 minutes–Vendor Staff is permitted to remove the vendor's belongings to allow another vendor to set up for the day. Any removed belongings can be retrieved from the check-in table and any remaining days for the impacted vendor are considered forfeit.

Tables and chairs may not be moved without permission of Palmetto Anthro Collective Staff. If chairs need to be removed to make space for mobility devices, please contact Palmetto Anthro Collective Staff and we will make accommodations.

Loud, disruptive, or distracting displays are NOT permitted. For the safety of individuals with sensory triggers, bright spotlights and flashing or strobing lights are prohibited. Please be mindful of your surroundings and make sure your sound levels and visual displays do not disturb other vendors or attendees.

Displays, Merchandise, and Services

Palmetto Anthro Collective focuses on highlighting vendors selling art by furries and for furries. We do not accept resellers, counterfeiters, AI, or predominantly anime/comic artists.

Any items that are displayed or for sale must be compliant with Palmetto Anthro Collective's Code of Conduct; any items that are not in compliance will be asked to be taken down. 

Please ask Vendor Staff before Artist Alley hours and during set up for “pre-check” if you believe that any items you have may violate any PAC rules. Any item removed during a “pre-check” will not count as a warning.

A vendor will get one warning for non-compliant items. If a second warning is needed, the vendor may be asked to leave with no possibility of a refund.

Adult Content

Palmetto Anthro Collective events have a "no sticky note" policy. If it must be covered by sticky notes to be viewed by general audiences, due to the suggestiveness or language, it is NOT allowed. PAC events during vendor hours are for general audiences of all ages.

We do not allow for the display of dakimakuras/pin-ups in the Artist Alley that are not under a blatant comedic SFW nature (i.e. “car daki” or “worm on string daki”). If you are unsure, please request a pre-check from Vendor Staff.

As of July 10, 2026, NSFW is NOT permitted at Palmetto Anthro Collective events. All items must be SFW and have a max rating of PG-13.

IP Content and Other Merchandise

No more than 20% of your content sold can be fanart of IP content. As a vendor, it is your responsibility to make sure everything you sell follows copyright and trademark laws. Palmetto Anthro Collective is not responsible for any legal issues resulting from selling licensed products or works the vendor does not hold rights to.

Items that are illegal to possess or sell in the state of South Carolina are prohibited. Vendors are expected to know and follow all relevant state and local laws regarding what is not permitted to be sold. 

Venue Restrictions

Due to our venue contracts, outside food and drinks are prohibited. Exceptions will be made for individuals needing accommodations, please contact Palmetto Anthro Collective staff if such accommodations are necessary. Regardless, vendors are not permitted to sell food or drinks.

Vendors are responsible for any damage to the venue caused by their actions. Vendors may not hang merchandise or other content on venue walls and ceilings.

Sales

Vendors may make sales or trade with other vendors so long as taxes are handled appropriately.

Due to sales and use tax laws, Palmetto Anthro Collective is unable to make sales on the vendor's behalf.

Palmetto Anthro Collective can not provide a vendor with cash or break change. Our venue, the Crowne Plaza Greenville, does have an ATM on-site.

Lost and Abandoned Items

Any items (within reason) left by vendors are considered lost and will be held by the Palmetto Anthro Collective Staff for 30 days. Lost items may be retrieved by vendors during that period by reaching out to Palmetto Anthro Collective via email. Vendors will be responsible for transportation or shipping costs, as necessary. After that 30 day window, any unclaimed items are considered abandoned property and will be treated as property of Palmetto Anthro Collective. 

Vendors who abandon items or leave trash around their table during teardown may be blacklisted from future Palmetto Anthro Collective events. Please do not make our staff or the venue’s staff clean up after you!

Palmetto Anthro Collective is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items of any kind.

If there are disputes concerning these rules, the decision of the Palmetto Anthro Collective Board of Directors is final, and can only be appealed by the President.

Tax Information

Only approved vendors may sell at Palmetto Anthro Collective events.

All vendors in the Artist Alley are required to have a valid South Carolina Retail License (sales tax permit). Any vendor without this documentation will not be permitted to sell, and no refunds will be issued for any fees paid.

All Dealers are required to obtain and submit a South Carolina Tax ID to Palmetto Anthro Collective. Please do NOT provide us your SSN (Social Security Number) or your Federal EIN (Employer Identification Number).

Dealers are required to collect tax on all taxable sales made during any Palmetto Anthro Collective event. You can register online with the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR).

Dealers are responsible for filing sales tax returns and paying collected taxes directly to the SCDOR on the required schedule (monthly, quarterly, or annually). Palmetto Anthro Collective is not responsible and will not file anything on your behalf.

Palmetto Anthro Collective is not responsible for maintaining or holding on to any vendor's South Carolina Tax ID. A vendor’s South Carolina Tax ID may be kept on file from event to event, but it is the vendor’s responsibility to ensure it is provided at each Palmetto Anthro Collective event.

1. Go to the MyDORWAY South Carolina Department of Revenue website.

2. Under “Application & Searches”, click “Business Tax Registration”.

3. Under “I Want To”, click “Register a Business”.

4. Search for and select an NAICS code, then click “Next”:

5. Click “New Business Tax Application”. 

6. Fill out Business Information:

The type of Ownership depends on the type of business you have registered.

After you have finished filling out your information, click “Next”. 

7. Fill out additional information, contact information, and Business Owner, General Partners, Offices, or Members information. Then, click “Next”.   

8. Fill out the location address information.

9. Select “Retail Sales Tax” and click “Next”.

The earliest anticipated date of first retail sales MUST be on or before February, 5th 2027 to ensure your Sales Tax ID is valid for PAW 2027.

10. Sign up for a MyDORWAY account and click “Next”. 

11. Pay for your retail sales tax.
